Oh My Josh! 2008 Home Run Derby is a Blast

2008 All Star HR Derby

Two from Section 22 made it to the HR Derby on Monday July 14th.  John and Tom got to see Justin Morneau (Minnesota – 1B) beat out a tired Josh Hamilton (Texas – OF) to win the trophy for the night.  But the night and the crowd belong to Hamilton as he electrified the stadium with monster shots with 3 over 500 feet and 28 in total in the first round, a new derby first round record.  He went on to smack 35 in total to only 22 for Morneau.  All told 105 dingers left the park.

The night was very entertaining and totally packed.  The guys watched the event from further down the line in Section 28 near the foul pole and Ryan Braun (MIL – OF) poked a few nearby in the left field upper deck.

  1. As a far-away (Netherlands) Minnesota Twins fan, I am always looking for new sites with Twins news.
I hope that Morneau and Mauer stays healthy all season.
