Feb 7 – Should Rich Gossage be in Monument Park?

ny-jersey-logo(Bronx, NY) – One interesting question for Yankee fans is the legacy of Rich Gossagegoose-in-the-hofA recent entry to the MLB Hall of Fame his career spanned 22 years and 9 teams.  But his longest stint was with the Yankees and one has to wonder if he deserves some recognition in Monument Park.   When you hear the name do you think of him as a Yankee?  He is  wearing a Yankee cap on his HOF Plaque.  Should he get a plaque in the park?  His number won’t be retired but perhaps something?  Or maybe not.

Here is a list of plaques at the moment.  And clearly some of the current players (e.g. Jeter and Mo) are destined to join the wall as well as having their number retired.   Notice the plaques are longer than the retired number list.
