Apr 15 – End of The Road: Yanks Tops Rays 4-3 in the 9th

End Long Road Series 5-4 and Set to Open the new Stadium

series 2 games to 1.  A nice comeback from the series opening 15-5 shellacking on Monday.

Andy Pettitte’s second start was another good one as he went 7.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs, with only 2 Tampa doubles creating problems and solo shot by a hot Carlos Pena.  But the Yanks battled back nicely.  Robby Cano’s 2-run homer in the 4th tied it and Damon’s double to score Jeter in the 8th was huge.  Brian Bruney got the win and pitched to 5 batters in Tampa over two games.  And the result:  5 Strikeouts!

The team now opens up their new ball park and can hopefully enjoy some home cookin’ and move back into first place in the AL East.
