Jun 23 – Southern Slump: Yanks Sputter vs Braves

Lose 4-0 to Rookie Tommy Hanson, But They Had Their Chances

ball-glove-png(Atlanta, GA) – The Bombers were anything but again as they continue to look weak against NL pitching, this time dropping a contest to the Braves phenom, Tommy Hanson (3-0).  Nothing is working although with chances in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings for the Yanks, there were brief moments of hope.

Atlanta’s catcher Brian McCann was 3-4 with a homer and 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored while the Yanks catcher, Jorge Posada, was 0-4 with 4 strikeouts.  That pretty much sums it all up.

C-M Wang moved to 0-6 on the year and Joba goes on Wednesday to try and be the stopper.  Its getting ugly out there.  The Yanks fall to 38-32 and are in danger of falling to 3rd or 4th in the division by week’s end.
