Sep 29 – Keep on Walkin’: Yanks Do it Again with 4-3 Comeback

Defeat Royals in the Bottom of the 9th for 15th Walkoff

nyymlb-logo(Bronx, NY) – It never gets old.  And against an old friend (Kyle Farnsworth) no less.  Once again the magic continued this time with Triple-AAA call up Juan Miranda providing the drama.  A single off of Farnsworth followed the tying sac fly from Robbie Cano and the Yanks had done it again.

AJ Burnett showed another good outing, giving worried fans some hope as the playoffs loom.  Tex (#39) and Swisher (#28) had earlier solo shots to put the team in position for the 9th inning drama.

With the win the Yanks tied the record for most wins in an opening season for a ballpark, 57, tying their rivals who opened Fenway in 1912 with the same number of wins.  The bullpen tied a record with their 40th win.  And the new stadium has defined its own character and mystique.  As Yogi would say ‘It Aint Over until its Over’.
