Dramatic 2-Run Shots from A-Rod and Marcus Thames in 9th Win It

to win a crazy match.  After jumping ahead with 5 runs in the first and holding a 6-1 lead and Phil Hughes on the mound the Yanks seemed positioned for an easy win.  But the Sox came back strong with homers from Drew, Ortiz, Youklis and 2 from Victor Martinez to eventually lead 9-7 going into the bottom of the ninth.

Javy Vazquez got the win in relief with a big strikeout in the top of the 9th to hold Boston at 9.

Notes:  It was the first Yankee comeback when trailing after 8 innings this year.
