Jul 8 – NorthWest Win: Yanks Rally Past Seattle 3-1

Swish Goes 4-4 and Andy Moves to 11-2

(Seattle, WA) – The Yanks rolled on to their 6th victory in a row with a nice come-from-behind win over the Mariners at Safeco field last night.  Andy Pettitte went 8 innings giving up only 1 run.  Nick Swisher remains locked in going 4-4 and setting up the winning runs in the 9th with a big double.  A-Rod came through with a go-ahead 2-run single.

The Yanks had many chances early but Seattle’s Justin Vargas pitched well and in and out of the jams.  Seattle took the lead 1-0 in the 6th before Posada knocked in the tying run in the 8th with a bases loaded double-play.   Mariano picked up his 20th save in the 9th.

Notes:  Nick Swisher remains locked in and was voted by the fans to the final AL All-Star spot.  Pettitte is going back to the All-Star game for the first time since 2001 and 3rd overall.
