Jul 29 – Tribal Council: Yanks Blast Indians, Take Another Series

Win Last Two games 8-0, 11-4 with 25 Hits Total

(Cleveland, OH) – The series started out tight with the Yanks pulling out a close 3-2 game in the opener only to be stymied in game #2 and fall 4-1.  The next two have been slugfests as the Yankee bats exploded and piled it on.  Hopefully they remain hot as they head to Tampa for a big 3-game series and a two-game lead in the AL East.

Dustin Moseley (1-0) pitched well to get his first win of the year while A-Rod remains stuck (and pressing) on homer #599.   Moseley pitched 6 innings allowing 4 hits and only a solo run early.  Cano started off a  big 7-run rally with 2 outs in the 7th inning to put this one away by knocking his 20th dinger.  Chan Ho Park and the reserves had a messy 9th inning to make the score closer than it should have been.  The Yanks entered the game with 100 games played a 64-36 record and now have 65 wins on the year.

There was a lot to celebrate the last 2 days

  1. The New York Yankees are actually 65-36 so far Emmett. Beat those Rays and keep first place in the A.L. East. Good weekend for baseball. Only concern for the New York Yankees is the middle relief or maybe the bench at the trade deadline!

  2. 65-35 after 100 Games and heading into Tampa to protect first place. Alot of teams would probably trade for the Yankees problems.

That being said- I anticipate a good weekend of baseball this weekend starting with Phil Hughes and Wade Davis taking the mound tonight.
