Sep 13 – Road Blues: Yanks Swept in Texas, Drop 6 of 7

Key Match vs. Tampa up Next

(New York, NY) – Well a slump was inevitable and seems to have arrived.  All the momentum from the Swisher walk-off from Wednesday afternoon is gone as the Yanks lost all 3 in Texas and head to Tampa in a virtual tie (Tampa sits 1/2 game back but has a game in hand).  A pair of Cy Young contenders take the mound as CC Sabathia (19-6) faces David Price (17-6) for the Rays.  The Yanks (87-56) are battling various nagging injuries and fatigue as is everyone at this time of the year and have the toughest schedule than anyone down the stretch.  19 games remain 7 of which are against Tampa and 6 against the Red Sox.  All opponents are the AL East, clearly the top division in baseball.
