Jan 16 – Talk of the Town: Jets Back It Up with 28-21 Win Over New England

Sanchez Tosses 3 TDs and the Defense Throttles Brady

(Foxboro, MA) – After a week of jabs via the media, and 6 weeks after an embarrasing 45-3 loss the Jets returned to Foxboro and won the one that counted as they upset the #1 see Patriots with a 28-21 win.  Rex Ryan called it the 2nd most important game in franchise history, Dennis Byrd delivered an emotional speech to motivate the team and the team played mistake-free football for 60 minutes and now advance to the AFC championship game for the 2nd year in a row.  Sometimes maligned Mark Sanchez tossed 3 TD’s (to Braylon Edwards, Ladanian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes) and made the big plays while the defense sacked Tom Brady 5 times and picked him off once for the first time in 340 attempts.  The defense made the stops it needed to make, while Eric Smith, Shaun Ellis and Cromartie all had key plays.  But it was a team win all around and only the Steelers stand in their way from going to the big dance, Super Bowl XLV.

Mark Sanchez improved to 4-1 in playoff games, all on the road.

  1. Lets go Jets…Colts and Pats were tough but Pitt might be better than both. Plus GB is no joke either. So while I am confident as can be- looking towards two more big games!

  2. The story of the day was the defense kicking the crap out of Brady and holding it together long enough to come away with the “W” – no easy feat in Foxboro. I enjoyed watching Brady get knocked about. Bring it on Big Ben!!!
