Spring Board: Yanks Working out the Kinks

First Week of Games Shows Some Promise

(Tampa, FL) – Well the 2-5 record is not exactly overwhelming but the Yanks got a weeks’ worth of games under their belts and will continue to work towards the opener on March 31.  Starting pitching, limited to 2 innings or so per player, has been pretty good, with the notable exception a pour outing by Sabathia yesterday.  Meanwhile the rest of the pitching has shown some promise especially for the younger ones such as Banuelos, Betances, and Nova with Brackman still waiting for his shot.  And Bartolo Colon has looked like a renaissance man but time will still tell before dreams are set in motion.

Obviously the injury to Cervelli sets up Montero to make the roster and Eric Chavez has gotten off to a nice start.   Jeter continues to tinker with his mechanics and the whole stride thing gets a lot of play in various media stories.  Mariano has moved slowly so far but no one seems to be concerned.  All in all things are as expected.  Comments welcome.
