National Prince: NL All-Star’s Defeat AL 5-1

Prince Fielder’s 3-1 Blast the Big Blow

(Phoenix, AZ) – For the 2nd year in the row the National League will have home field advantage in the World Series thanks to their 5-1 win over the American League in the 2011 All-Star Game.  Roy Halladay pitched well (only for 2 innings) but the AL was able to get on the board first with a homer by Boston’s Adrian Gonzalez off of Cliff Lee.  However Texas’s C.J. Wilson gave up a 3-run shot to Prince Fielder and the NL would tack on two more with RBI’s from Ethier and Sandoval to easily win.

The AL did have to overcome the lost of some premier starters such as Jon Lester, CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander for various reasons and in the end the NL just proved more adapt at making their hits count.
