Summer Sizzle: Yanks Open 2nd Half with a 6-5 Rally Win over the Angels

(New York, NY) – The Bronx Bombers (53-33) started their second half run to the playoffs in dramatic fashion with an exciting 6-5 come from behind win over the visiting Angels in the first of a 3 game set in The Bronx.  It was a game that had everything:

  • Solid starting pitching to begin from Kuroda and CJ Wilson
  • great defensive plays with both Texiera and Swisher making great plays to save run(s).
  • 4 homers from the two teams (2 each)
  • Russell Martin throwing out 3 base runners in addition to his big game winning RBI in the bottom of the 8th
  • another big save out of the bullpen for Soriano

Tex was huge with a 2-run homer to post an early 2-1 lead followed by a 3-run blast in the 8th to tie it.  It was a warm night, a festive atmosphere and the team did not disappoint.

It was the 2nd game of the year for Tom/John/Brendan and their record improved to 2-0.
