Tribal Outburst: Yanks Collect 17 Hits, Pound Indians 9-2

Jeter Garners 2 Hits, 4 Away from 3K

(Cleveland OH) – With a red-hot CC Sabathia on the mound the Yanks (51-33) did not need a lot of runs.  Still they took no chances and belted out 17 hits and 9 runs, with 2 long balls from Curtis Granderson (3 hits, 3 RBIs), to ensure the win. 8 of the 9 starters collected 2 or more hits while C.C. (12-4) went 7 innings, with 0 runs, 5 hits and 11 big strikeouts.  The Indians got 2 runs in the 9th off of Lance Pendleton on in relief.

The Yanks are now 4-2 over Cleveland on the year and finish out the series on Wednesday when Phil Hughes is scheduled to return from the DL.
